Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2023 Newsletter
An Ounce of Practice Is Worth a Pound of Preaching by Daniela Bunea
There are many reasons why I continue to compile and publish this practical collection of presentations of eTwinning teachers ' work . * Sharing best practices : I aim at showcasing a range of effective teaching and learning practices developed during eTwinning project work . This can help other eTwinners learn from different approaches , strategies , and techniques that have proven successful in the classroom and beyond the classroom . It is an effective way of disseminating valuable knowledge and inspiring professional development among fellow teachers . * Collaboration and community building : Publishing this collection has proved – for 13 years now – to foster a sense of collaboration and community among teachers involved in eTwinning . It creates a stage for them and allows them to share their ideas , exchange experiences , and even build connections with one another . By featuring the work of multiple teachers , the compilation can reflect a diverse range of perspectives and styles , encouraging dialogue and mutual learning . * Source of inspiration for new eTwinners : New eTwinners often seek guidance and resources to enhance their work skills . This compilation of presentations serves as a valuable resource for these educators , offering practical examples , insights , and inventiveness . It has often provided a starting point for teachers who were looking for tried and tested approaches to enhance their own
methods , as acknowledged in subsequent articles . * Professional development : eTwinning teachers continuously strive for professional growth and improvement . Compiling and publishing presentations of other teachers ' work has become a part of this teacher ' s own professional development journey . By engaging in the process of reviewing , selecting , and curating articles , I gain exposure to a variety of innovative ideas and practices that have incessantly expanded my own teaching and learning repertoire . * Recognition and appreciation : Publishing this newsletter annually is a way to recognise and appreciate the hard work and accomplishments of my peers . It acknowledges their expertise , creativity , and dedication to the field of education . I am confident that this recognition boosts morale , encourages a sense of pride in the teaching profession , and inspires other teachers , eTwinners or not , to excel in their own teaching and learning practices .
