Raising Awareness about Nature - eTwinning Project “ Yes , We Do Care !” by Andreea Goldschmidt
The eTwinning project ” Yes , We Do Care !” gathered 16 partners from 7 different countries , Greece ( 6 ), Spain ( 3 ), Cyprus ( 3 ), Tunisia ( 1 ), Jordan ( 1 ), Italy ( 1 ), Romania ( 1 ). The age range of the students was between 11 and 12 years old . The subjects of teaching : Art , Cross Curricular , Environmental Education , Primary School Subjects , Technology . It aimed at developing the following key competences : Citizenship , Cultural awareness and expression , and Digital . discuss the capability of making a better living . They learnt about the rights and responsibilities and they became more involved in the community . This project enabled students give solutions of environmental problems . It stimulated the consciousness that the environment cannot be treated without rules .
Like in any other eTwinning project , collaboration was the key to success . To achieve the objectives of the project , several collaborative activities were carried out : Podcasts on School Radio ( European School Radio ) these were distributed monthly in schools , collaborative story about nature protection and waste management , collaborative song with lyrics created by partners on raising awareness about protecting the environment .
The Student Radio ( europeanschoolradio . eu ) is the only collective school radio station that broadcasts 24 / 7 online . It hosts student productions , whether recorded or live , in the common radio program .
The program is enriched by the students ’ musical preferences , and is the channel of communication and interaction between them , extending the boundaries of the classroom . The Student Radio empowers students ’ voices !
The partnership was committed to align the strategic priorities to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs ) especially to those concerning the better and more sustainable environment for all . Project ’ s participants presented their own region ’ s culture and environmental features and
Another important element in eTwinning is the use of technology . In order to follow the eTwinning mission , all the projects activities were carried out with the help of technology , especially the collaborative activities . Digital tools and applications were presented in the TwinSpace with the Symbaloo tool . Thanks to the technology used in the project , students learned how to use many digital applications
