Connecting Youth Across Borders by Eugenia Olguța Cotulbea
The rise of European Teen Magazine European Teen Magazine is a project which focused on this year’ s topic SKILLS FOR LIFE, but which suited my students’ needs of improving writing, speaking skills but which also implied brainstorming. The project represents the journey of a European Journalist, and it serves as a comprehensive, step-by-step portfolio documenting the development of essential media literacy, journalism, and digital publishing skills. It transitions dynamically from foundational theory to practical application, culminating in real-world media production and digital dissemination.
Students from several European countries launched a collaborative digital magazine, and this ambitious project aimed to highlight topics most relevant to modern teenagers. The creators explored various
themes, including lifestyle, culture, technology, psychology, sports, music, and the environment.
The main aim of teachers was to build essential skills for the future; therefore, the initiative provided an international space for students to develop vital realworld skills. Participants actively practiced creative writing, journalism, and intercultural communication while mastering new digital tools. Furthermore, working in international teams allowed the teenagers to build strong habits in critical thinking and online responsibility.
The project represented a guided journalism adventure, so this major student-led project succeeded with extensive educational support. A dedicated group of 27 teachers guided the students through every step of their journalism adventure. The resulting magazine reflects true cross-border cooperation and the powerful potential of digital learning platforms.

These pieces cover wide-ranging topics that matter deeply to today ' s youth. The content is organized into clear thematic sections, reflecting the diverse interests of the international student teams.
