On 3 December, we visited the Atomium, an iconic site and international symbol of Brussels and Europe. Then, in the afternoon, the logo contest took place. In transnational groups, the students designed the logo using different apps and presented their ideas before the final vote took place.
The students also started to gather materials and ideas for the final collaborative product. They brainstormed and chose the application they wanted to use and the kind of product they wanted to create. The final product had to offer a personal perspective on their experience, thus promoting reflection and critical thinking.
On the last day, we visited Experience Europe, a permanent exhibition in the heart of Brussels’ European Quarter which immerses visitors, virtually, in a fun and interactive environment where they can learn about the work, priorities and core policies of the European Commission and the values of the European Union. After visiting Experience Europe, we went to the Visitors’ Centre of the European Commission in the Charlemagne building, where we were given a presentation about the role of the European Commission within the EU. In the afternoon, the students continued their final project work and presented it to the rest of the group. Finally, students and teachers were given a certificate proving their participation in the mobility, so we improvised a nice awarding ceremony. There was also a lot of chatting, drinking, and snacking together before the final greetings! The Romanian groups were due to leave very early the next morning.
