The eTwinning project“ IA’ m NextGen Schooling” brought together students and teachers from five European countries— France, Germany, Spain, Poland, and Portugal— to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on education and to imagine the school of the future. Through a wide range of collaborative and interactive activities, students introduced themselves and their countries, exchanged ideas in international forums, created collaborative games, voted on the AI tools they use, and reflected on the role of AI in learning, communication, and society.
Dr. Assiye Şahin Akbulut is an experienced philosophy group teacher who holds a PhD degree and is a senior eTwinning project founder in Türkiye. Having managed projects on empowering education, she was awarded the international Bronze Award in 2025 and the Silver Award in 2026 at the Women Changing the World Awards.
A key objective of the project was to encourage students to think critically about the rapid technological and social changes brought about by AI and to consider how education must evolve to prepare future generations. They examined the competences required in a
