Murièle Dejaune teaches English and French at a vocational high school in France, but her classroom extends far beyond its walls. An eTwinning Ambassador since 2010, she loves connecting students across Europe through creative, awardwinning projects. National and European Quality Labels – and several eTwinning Prizes – have rewarded her work, but her greatest achievement is inspiring students to learn together.
STEAM in Early Education: Lessons from InnoSTEAM by Cristina Andrei
Early childhood is the period when curiosity is at its most natural and powerful, and it is precisely this curiosity that STEAM education – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics – seeks to nurture. Rather than treating these disciplines as isolated subjects, STEAM invites young children to explore, question, build and create, using play as the primary vehicle for learning. For preschoolers this integrated approach reflects the way they naturally encounter the world, not as separate subjects labelled“ science” or“ art”, but as a single, connected experience.
