Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2026 Newsletter digital technologies can strengthen cooperation, creativity and meaningful learning experiences for young children.
Conclusion The STEM4Life project demonstrated that meaningful STEM education can begin in the first year of primary school when learning is rooted in children ' s natural curiosity and connected to authentic everyday experiences. By combining inquiry, creativity, collaboration and digital innovation, the project transformed simple classroom activities into engaging learning experiences that encouraged pupils to observe, question, experiment and discover.
The project connected science with everyday life, technology with creativity and environmental responsibility with active citizenship. At the same time, it strengthened the relationships between students, teachers, families, the school and European partners, creating a learning community built on cooperation, curiosity and shared values.
For me as a teacher, STEM4Life reaffirmed the educational value of eTwinning and the importance of creating learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and collaboration. It is an experience that continues to shape my teaching practice and my vision of meaningful learning.
Laura-Cecilia Sapungi is a primary school teacher at Gheorghe Banea Secondary School in Măcin, Romania, with 30 years of experience in primary education. Since joining eTwinning in 2022, she has coordinated international collaborative projects recognised with National and European Quality Labels. She is passionate about STEM education, innovative teaching practices and creating meaningful learning experiences for young learners.
Looking back on this experience, the greatest achievement was not the number of activities completed or the collaborative products created. It was the transformation of young learners into confident children who asked questions without fear, worked together with enthusiasm and proudly realised that their ideas could reach classrooms across Europe. This is the lasting value of eTwinning and the wonderful legacy that STEM4Life leaves within our school community.
