For many pupils, these encounters represented their first direct interaction with children from other European countries, making the European dimension of learning authentic and meaningful.
Working on common themes encouraged children to compare ideas, recognise similarities and appreciate cultural diversity. As they followed the work of their partners throughout the school year, they became increasingly confident in expressing their own opinions, discussing simple scientific observations and reflecting on different ways of solving the same problem. They gradually understood that science, mathematics and environmental responsibility are not subjects learned only from textbooks, but essential parts of everyday life shared by people across Europe
STEM activities inspired by everyday life The activities developed throughout the project reflected situations familiar to students, allowing them to investigate scientific concepts through observation, experimentation and creativity.
Environmental education became one of the central themes of the project. During the Energy and Water Conservation activities, pupils explored the importance of water as a valuable natural resource. They discussed ways of collecting rainwater and reflected on everyday actions that contribute to protecting the environment. Rather than memorising
information, children learned by experimenting, observing changes and drawing conclusions from their own investigations. These activities helped them understand that environmental responsibility begins with simple habits practised both at school and at home.
Environmental responsibility continued through the Waste Management and Recycling module. Recyclable materials were transformed into useful and decorative objects during creative upcycling workshops, demonstrating that imagination can give new life to everyday waste. While working together, pupils discovered the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling materials, recognising that even small individual actions can make a positive contribution to protecting the environment.
One particularly enjoyable activity involved composing and performing an original rap song dedicated to environmental protection. Using the AIpowered platform Suno to generate the musical accompaniment, pupils transformed their environmental message into an engaging performance where music, creativity, digital innovation and ecological awareness merged naturally.
Healthy living was approached from both scientific and digital perspectives. After learning about the nutritional benefits of fruits, pupils designed creative fruit plates and explored the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence. Using the AI application Grok, they transformed photographs of their fruit plates into imaginative illustrated characters,
