creators of knowledge in an international environment.
The mathematical journey: Applying mathematics to real life The central activity of the project was the creation of a Mathematical Journey, a virtual trip through the participating countries. Students had to design a realistic travel experience by applying mathematical knowledge to authentic situations.
They investigated distances between countries, travel routes, transport options, accommodation costs, daily budgets, currency exchange, time calculations, geographical information and cultural points of interest.
The result was a collaborative Travel Guide, created by the international teams, including maps, budgets, recommendations, and mathematical challenges. This activity connected mathematics with geography, economics, digital competence, and cultural awareness.
Through teamwork, students developed their communication skills, problemsolving strategies, leadership abilities, responsibility and autonomy, respect for different perspectives, and ability to collaborate using digital environments.
The international groups became the heart of the project and demonstrated the real meaning of European cooperation.
Students understood that mathematical knowledge has a practical purpose and helps people make informed decisions in everyday life.
