Visibility of eTwinning Projects Group July 2026 Newsletter
Environmental Padlet Map. Each team contributed an example of a place affected by( historical or current) war, including a brief description and AI-visual of the environmental damage caused, a message of hope or a proposed solution to the environmental issue.
The map became a visual testimony to how war reshapes ecosystems across continents.
Europe and eTwinning Day – European values in action On 8 May 2026, a public event – the Europe / eTwinning Day celebration – was held at the Secondary School of Economics in Croatia. The event coincided with the 10th anniversary of the European Parliament Ambassador School( EPAS) programme, the 7th anniversary of the school ' s participation in the programme and the 15th anniversary of the school ' s collaboration with other European schools through the eTwinning platform.
Students began to see environmental protection not only as an issue of sustainability but also as an issue of peace. They realized that polluted rivers outlast ceasefires, that landmines remain in the soil for decades after peace agreements are signed, that toxic air affects children who were not even born during a conflict – as is the case in Slavonski Brod, one of the locations featured on the interactive map – and that forests and wildlife cannot negotiate peace treaties.
During the event, the final product of the Module 5 was presented – a video message From Present Youth to the Future World, in which young eTwinners shared their vision of the Europe and the world they wish to see, discussed what young people can do to help make that vision a reality and reflected on how programmes such as EPAS, eTwinning, and Erasmus + can support them in achieving these goals.
This project module demonstrated that when students are given a voice, responsibility and opportunities for international cooperation, they move beyond passive learning. They become advocates for change, hope and peace in the world.
An international hybrid public event Europe Day – United in Diversity, We Create Our Common Future was held on 11 May 2026 in the Municipal Amphitheatre of the Greek city of Xanthi( organized by a long-standing partner of the Croatian school in the EPAS
