Action Reaction: The Science Behind Everyday Life by Elena Vlădescu
Science is most meaningful when students have the opportunity to experience it through exploration, observation, and collaboration. This philosophy inspired the 2025 – 2026 eTwinning project " Action Reaction," an international partnership that brought together students aged 12 to 13 from Romania and Poland to discover the fascinating world of physics through practical activities, digital technologies, and intercultural cooperation.
Founders of the project were Katarzyna Zawiła-Dudzik, from Primary School No. 4 im. Orla Bialego w in Czechowice- Dziedzice, Poland and Elena Vladescu, from Nicolae Titulescu Theoretical High School in Slatina, Romania. Together, the two teachers designed a programme that combined scientific inquiry with international collaboration, digital learning, and communication in English.
Rather than focusing on abstract scientific theories, the project encouraged students to investigate the physical phenomena they encounter every day. Through experiments, collaborative challenges, and creative problem-solving activities, students learned that physics is not confined to textbooks— it is present in every reflection in a mirror, every beam of light, every magnet, and every force acting around us.
