Coordinating this international initiative also contributed significantly to my professional development. It strengthened my competences in project management, international collaboration, digital pedagogy, and interdisciplinary curriculum design while confirming that meaningful partnerships create richer learning opportunities for both teachers and pupils.
The project has also been presented at the eTwinning Summer School 2026, Education for Life: Essential Competences for the Future, and at the Cross-Border Conference Online Education Without Borders: Connecting Communities, Cultivating UNESCO Values.

Lilia Spinei is a primary school teacher holding the highest teaching qualification in the Republic of Moldova, an eTwinning project founder, and a mentor for teachers. Her professional interests include environmental education, digital innovation, project-based learning, and international educational collaboration.
Little Guardians of Nature: How a Generation Grows with Care for the Planet by Iuliana Rădulescu
What happens when nine dedicated teachers from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Georgia join forces in a remarkable team? The answer is simple: magical bridges are built, and children truly become global citizens. Under the coordination of Ms. Lilia Spinei from the Republic of Moldova and Ms. Elena Mitrescu from Romania, we transformed our students into true“ guardians” of the environment through the eTwinning project Little Guardians of Nature. The project was directly aligned with the annual European eTwinning theme“ Skills for Life” and reflected UNESCO values related to sustainability, solidarity, and the protection of natural heritage. Beyond textbooks, children learned through action, collaboration, and technology.
The aim of the project was to involve students in interactive activities that would help them understand the importance of protecting nature while also developing digital, social, civic, and collaboration skills.
