Alcyan: How long are you active in this community?
Gentle: I have been here since the very beginning, in June 2007. I am one of the founders.
Alcyan: What does Second Life offers that Real Life doesn’t to disabled people and how easy or hard is for a disable person to adjust to this environment?
Gentle: I think the answers to this question are pretty much the same whether or not the person has a disability. Virtual worlds are a social environment, a creative space, a venue in which you can exist in some ways free of your physical self (again all this applies to both people with and without disabilities). And yes, we all know that there is a significant learning curve when you first enter a virtual world.
Alcyan: How large is the member base of VA? Did it increase or decrease over the years?
Gentle: We have over 1000 members now, from six continents. We continue to grow and thrive.
