GOLFER OF

THEYEAR

The 2025 VSGA Golfers of the Year features plenty of new faces, from a 16-year-old who stunned the
VSGA Amateur field to a late bloomer who celebrated the 100th VSGA Women’ s Amateur Championship in style at Keswick Golf Club. Of the winners, only one was repeated from 2024— Super Senior Women’ s Golfer of the Year Shawn McCullough. Join us in honoring the best Virginia amateur golf had to offer in 2025.

What memory do you take away from this season?
Winning the State Amateur. It was my first time playing in that tournament and being the youngest that has done it in 96 years was unbelievable … not only that but earning the exemption into the U. S. Amateur. That experience was like no other … I was so excited to announce my commitment to the University of Virginia.
What are your golf goals for 2026? My goals are to go back-to-back with the State Amateur, be in the last group in the State Open and have a winning walk up Independence 18th fairway, qualify again for the U. S. Amateur and give it the best run I can.
• Champion, MAPGA / VSGA Junior Four-Ball( with brother)
• T6, AJGA Lanto Junior Championship
• Committed to University of Virginia

JUNIOR BOYS

What ball do you play and how do you mark it? Titleist Pro V1x. I usually play the number 2, and I mark it with a black marker. I write my initials on each side of the number— L2M.
What is your favorite course in Virginia? Birdwood. I have a lot of great memories there, not only at the State Amateur but also at other junior tournaments I have won there.
Who is the golfer you admire the most? Max Homa. I admire his work ethic. He is the type of guy to always put in the work no matter if he is winning or losing. I always strive to be the exact same way.
