VSGA SENIOR WOMEN ’ S GOLFER OF THE YEAR

Andrea Miller

HOME CLUB : The Club at Glenmore
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT : Making the Round of 32 at the U . S . Senior Women ’ s Amateur Championship . Not only was the experience an amazing opportunity to participate in the first ever USGA championship in the state of Alaska , but to experience the amazingly friendly people of Alaska , hang out with my golfing friends , and compete against awesome competition in the surreal surroundings of Anchorage is something I will never forget .
GOLF GOALS FOR 2023 : I would love to bring home the VSGA
Women ’ s Senior Championship again . I want to push further into a USGA championship ( having made the Round of 32 in my last three ), and I am hopeful to again compete at the U . S . Women ’ s Senior and U . S . Women ’ s Mid-Am . Also , I would like to compete in a championship I have not played in before to explore new venues .
BEST CLUB IN YOUR BAG : That is a tough one because I really feel that I saw improvement across my bag in 2022 in ball striking and short game . But if I had to pick one club , I might pick my 8-iron . At the U . S . Senior Women ’ s Amateur I hit two pins from 130-140 yds over the course of two days . As I walked away from both of those holes with bogeys I jokingly , but almost a little seriously , told my caddie that I think I will aim 6 inches left of the pin going forward . It was so accurate I felt I could not miss .
DREAM DESTINATION GOLF TRIP : Scotland without a doubt . I had the bucket list trip scheduled for 2020 with tee times on St . Andrews Old Course , St . Andrews New Course , Kingsbarns , Cruden Bay and Carnoustie . Unfortunately , the trip got rescheduled due to the pandemic and canceled again in 2021 for the same . Because St . Andrews hosted the Open Championship in 2022 , we did not reschedule the third time . So it remains on top of my bucket list .
