VSGA SENIOR GOLFER OF THE YEAR

Jon Hurst

HOME CLUB : Fredericksburg CC
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT : Winning the VSGA Senior Am . It was my goal , and the one tournament that I wanted to win this year . Winning the first seven tournaments I played in this year was very cool as well .
FUN FACT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU : I have recently really taken a liking to horses . My mother has three , and they are in the farm right next to our neighborhood . My wife and I take care of them every night either bringing them in , feeding them , letting them out for the night and cleaning stalls , etc . We have enjoyed them very much .
GOLF GOALS FOR 2023 : I would like to repeat winning the VSGA Senior Am . I would also like to win the Senior Open as that is now the only VSGA senior major I have not won . Win the points again . Move up in the world amateur golf ranking points system so when I am 55 I can get in some more national events . Qualify for the US Senior Open ( missed by one shot this year ).
BEST CLUB IN YOUR BAG : My driver .
“ DREAM ” DESTINATION GOLF TRIP : I would love to get invited to play at Pine Valley or Seminole . It would be even better to receive an invitation to the Crump Cup at Pine Valley and / or the Coleman Senior Invitational at Seminole .
