PROPER SHOULDER
2
TILT
A proper shoulder tilt doesn ’ t have to be as hard as you think . It ’ s a matter of tilting into the correct angles to place you into your backswing . By doing this , you will find it ’ s a lot easier to create a bigger arc resulting in distance improvement and consistent contact .
Here ’ s the drill : Stand up straight and place a golf club behind your head . Twist to your dominant side , and then point the club down towards the ball . You ’ re now in a full backswing position . You can practice this on the range making sure your back is completely turned to the target . You can also get some reps going in front of a mirror at home .

STOP CASTING YOUR CLUB
Casting your club , which is throwing the clubhead early , can result in unwanted loft and poor contact . If your 7-iron ball flight flies more like a 9-iron , then you may be casting .

INCORRECT DRILL 2
Here ’ s the drill : Drill 1 : For the first part of the drill , you will grab a range basket ( or a big golf towel ) and place it on a 7-iron . Take the basket up to the top of the swing and slowly create your downswing . If the basket falls off before the club looks like it ’ s parallel to the ground , you ’ ve casted . Take the club up to the top of the swing again and slowly bring the basket down while maintaining your wrist angle . The club will actually feel lighter in the proper position .
Drill 2 : For the second part of the drill , you will hold the club with your lead hand and place your trail palm on the club . You will take some swings this way to feel the lead hand and arm leading and not throwing . It is not an easy drill so be patient .
