THE YEAR
VSGA Women ’ s Golfer of the Year
LAUREN GREENLIEF
HOME CLUB : International CC
WHAT WAS YOUR PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR ? Making the quarterfinals at the U . S . Women ’ s Mid-Amateur . In the round of 16 , I played a very competitive match against a good friend and 7-time USGA champion Ellen Port .
WHAT IS A FUN FACT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU ? Even though I have been playing golf since I was 5 years old , I am terrible at juggling a golf ball on the club .
BEST ADVICE / TIP YOU HAVE RECEIVED FROM A COACH OR PROFESSIONAL ? I worked with my coach Roger Hatcher a lot this year rebuilding my putting stroke with a putting arc . He gave me a really good practice routine making nine putts in a row from 3,5 , and 7 feet which helped my putting a lot this season .
WHAT GOLF GOALS DO YOU HAVE IN 2022 ? I would like to be in contention and make another deep run at the U . S . Women ’ s Mid-Amateur , qualify for the U . S . Women ’ s Amateur , and be competitive and in contention in VSGA championships . I also am very focused on continuing to improve my putting stats and wedges from inside 100 yards .
