Cassie Sengul is a 19 year old from Manassas who has cerebral palsy. Her home course is Dominion Valley Country Club. She became involved with the VSGA when she joined the Junior Golf Circuit in 2022 and has played in the past two U. S. Adaptive Opens.

“ From the very beginning, the support, organization, and encouragement from the VSGA staff and volunteers stood out to me and made me feel welcomed and valued as an athlete,” Sengul said.
She recently transferred to Christopher Newport University after starting her career at Drew University in New Jersey and is a member of the golf team. Following her transfer, she finished fourth overall and second in the coordination impairment category in the 2025 Adaptive Open.
Virginia Golf Hall of Fame member Grace Anne Braxton( Class of 2022) was ninth overall and third in the intellectual impairment category.
“ My experience with adaptive golf has been incredibly positive and meaningful,” Sengul said.“ Competing in adaptive events has given me the opportunity to play at a high level while being surrounded by people who truly understand both the physical and mental aspects of adaptive sport.
“ Playing in the Adaptive Opens especially reinforced my confidence as a golfer and reminded me that golf is a game where ability, determination, and passion matter more than limitations … I’ m excited to continue developing as both a collegiate and adaptive golfer.”

VSGA ' s future plans include:
Continuing and expanding the clinics and play days
Four multi-week sites for clinics in different parts of the Commonwealth
Single-day clinics in other areas
Visit more parts of the Commonwealth with the programs
