60th VSGA Four-Ball Championship Winners: Jason Pool and Ryan Stinnett( 67-63— 130) Site: Williamsburg Golf Club The story: Call it a battle of the gray beards vs. the no beards as Pool, 49, and Stinnett, 43, rode a late-round surge to outlast teenage brothers Noah( 17) and Liam( 16) Maclauchlan by two strokes. Both Pool and Stinnett contributed heavily down the stretch. Stinnett rolled in a
20-foot birdie putt on No. 16, and Pool added a 30-foot birdie of his own on the par-3 17th. Pool got up and down for par on 18 to close the door on any other pursuers left on the course. Stinnett claimed his third Four-Ball title and first since May 2007— five months before Noah Maclauchlan was born. Career VSGA titles: Pool( 1), Stinnett( 3). Quoting:“ Jason’ s just a great dude. Extremely generous, just an awesome guy.

They’ ve won two straight VSGA Senior Multi-Format Team Championship titles, but both admitted that this was the one piece of hardware they really wanted to get their hands on. Entering the second day two shots behind Cam Young and David Jordan, the Serraos played steady, bogeyfree golf and rode the wave of an eagle and two straight birdies near the turn to take control. Jay closed with two straight birdies, and when Young’ s birdie putt on 18 came up short, they earned the title they coveted. Career VSGA titles: Jay Serrao( 3), Steve Serrao( 8). Quoting:“ Listen, give Steve and Jay a lot of credit. What did they shoot? 62? We shot 7-under. We played really well. We had a
