Gross ’ Moment on the Big Stage

PGA professional Larkin Gross shares how he got into the game and the joy of qualifying for the PGA Championship
JUST TWO YEARS AGO , Larkin Gross fulfilled a goal in his last summer of amateur golf by advancing to match play at the VSGA Amateur Championship . Since then , his game has taken off . In April , the 23-year-old assistant professional at Springfield Golf & Country Club used a second-round 64 to finish fourth at the PGA Professional National Championship , earning him a spot in the field at May ’ s PGA Championship at Kiawah Island . He missed the cut that week , but the experience of playing on such a gigantic stage was invaluable .
