DAY 4
MORNING: PAWLEYS PLANTATION—Head down Route 17 to the South Strand
to play another Nicklaus gem set amidst 200-year-old mossy oaks with long-range
views of the marsh.
AFTERNOON: WILLBROOK PLANTATION—Just a short drive away you’ll find
more beautiful wetland vistas at this fun but challenging layout that winds through
two old plantations, one dating to the late 1700s.
OFF-COURSE OPTION: The Crazy Sister Marina in nearby Murrells Inlet offers
all kinds of water-related activities like charter fishing, parasailing, and Jet Ski and
kayak rental.
EVENING: The Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk is a lively and scenic spot for drinks and
dinner with lots of great bars and restaurants from which to choose, particularly
Capt. Dave’s Dockside and Wahoo’s Fish House. The latter also has a tiki bar complete
with waterfalls that really gets hopping at night.
