We ’ re now two years removed from the 2019 overhaul of the Rules of Golf , a perfect time to test your knowledge of the Rules to get ready for the new season . Whether you ’ re a hardcore Rules nerd or a casual player who likes to rib their buddies on the course for Rules violations , having a foundational knowledge of the Rules is never a bad thing .
On its website , the USGA offers interactive and printable quizzes on the Rules , divided into three categories : Basic , intermediate and advanced . So grab your Rules of Golf book and get ready to test your knowledge . Answers can be found on page 37 .
BASIC ( All answers are true or false ) 1 . Dew , frost and water are loose impediments .
2 . Yellow penalty areas have two relief options ; red penalty areas have three relief options .
3 . If a player decides his or her ball in a bunker is unplayable , there are two options that require the ball to be dropped in the bunker and only one option that allows relief outside the bunker .

is certified and returned to the Committee . What is the ruling ? a . The Committee should accept without penalty the scorecard as returned , since the better ball score of the side was correct . b . The Committee should correct the error by entering the correct score into the proper box on the scorecard and waive the disqualification penalty . c . The Committee must disqualify the side , since there was no score recorded for B whose score was to count .
