All of our
display items
inside and out
are all family
owned and have
been passed
down to me
over the years
so I cherish
every piece and
the memories
they evoke
even got to stop and position our van
we had groups of people, milling around
and starting to ask questions. As we
fielded question after question during
setup, we knew we were headed for an
awesome weekend. We had hundreds of
people check out our van and answered
thousands of questions and helped
visitors reminisce about memories of
time gone by, with our most popular
question being: Do you actually SLEEP
in it?
Our amazing weekend resulted
in winning Best Vintage Van 2015 and
cemented our passion for not only sharing
the Vintage Van, but also motivated us
to finish our project Van (aiming at both
being ready for the Vintage Caravan
Nationals at Southwest Rocks) and
joining in and displaying and using our
vans whenever time permits”.
Since then Deanna has taken Miss
Adelaide to several events including
the Waterhole Rocks in Nanango, Evens
Head, the Nimbin Agricultural Show,
the Leyburn Sprints and several club
functions and Show ‘n’ Shines and the
little caravan has even been a silver
screen star, having made an appearance
in the Australian mini series ‘Wanted’
directed by Rebecca Gibney.
“I was super excited when I was
asked if I could bring ‘Miss Adelaide’ to
use as a film prop along with my daughter,
granddaughter and myself as extras in
the filming of ‘Wanted’” Deanna recalls
“I love the interest that this little
van creates and the joy and memories
she evokes in all that view her. The
friendships I have made along the way
and the shared stories are cherished. I
can’t wait for the next Adventure!” VCM
