T 18 he dog days of summer are upon us. It has been hot, hot, and hot! As rainy as it has been, believe it or not, our grass will be dry in a couple of days with no rain. This is especially true with full-sun exposed grass. Please keep an eye out for areas of your lawn that don’t look right. We have been noticing some minor lawn damaging insects here and there, and if in doubt, please give the office a call. I wanted to take the time to let everyone know that Mainscape treats for lawn and ornamental damaging insects. Nuisance pests such as fleas, ticks, millipedes and such need to be treated by a residential pest control company. We have been getting a lot of calls concerning pests in pool enclosures and other bugs getting into homes. The only exception we make is the treatment for fire ants where we will treat with appropriate bait for their control. The bait is specific to fire ants and usually will not control other ants of which we have plenty throughout the project. We are in process of performing our mid-summer lawn fertilization. In the course of the application, we are spot treating for any lawn damaging insects we do find. Broadleaf weeds, due to the heat, are not being addressed at this time. By restricting our weed control this time of year, we lessen the liability of potential injury to the grass associated with this procedure. As we systematically go through the community on a weekly basis, we encounter many kind residents who give our work- ers water and show a little empathy; for that, we are very thankful. VillageWalk is a premier Orlando property, and we work diligently to give it our best effort. If you have any q uestions or concerns, do not hesitate to call the Town Center office (407.888.2704) or our customer service line (800.481.0096), and we would be happy to respond.
