Sunshine Service

By JOAN VEDDER

Looking forward to our new home in the Activity Center

In July we almost roasted ! I hope this isn ’ t a harbinger of the future ... stay tuned .
I assume you have noticed that
VEDDER the new building is coming along and it promises to live up to its name , the Activity Center . There will be so much more room for various groups , an elevator for easy access , and — drum roll please — a brand new spot for the Sunshine Service ! We ’ ll be on the main floor and there is to be a drive up side area where our clients can pick up the medical equipment they wish to borrow . No more stairs after all these years of personal service .
Currently we are well stocked with equipment but we still urge you to return items when you are done recovering . Weeks turn into months and then we have to hunt through our files to see where things have gone ! The goal of Sunshine is to loan you whatever you need and then have you respectfully return it to us . A few wonderful Charbonneau ladies started this idea many years ago , storing a handful of items in their garage . We have grown into a fabulous service , offering modern , upgraded items that didn ’ t exist in those days .
A great example of this is the “ knee scooter ” that gives you total freedom of movement when you have foot surgery , a broken ankle , etc . We have two of them at the cost of $ 300 each . Oftentimes they are both in use at the same time . Another practical item is the lightweight wheelchair . The wheelchairs weigh less than 20 pounds and fold up easily whenever you need to leave home . The chairs are perfect for doctor visits or other activities .
Last but not least , please remember to let us know ahead of surgery time so we can get the necessary items to your home . SpringRidge residents are also free to use Sunshine Service . We can deliver items right to your door if you don ’ t drive anymore .
Enjoy the rest of summer and let ’ s hope the temperatures are modest and enjoyable .

Having a best friend in the kitchen . That ’ s the Power of WE .

Imagine your life having a complete support system . It ' s like an extended family working together , supporting you , lifting you up , raising your spirits and making life easier . Every day . Your meals , your prescriptions , your chores , even a hobby or two , all looked after and taken care of . Smiles at every turn , a joke with a neighbor , a chef who knows just how you like your favorite meal . A life thriving through connection . That ’ s senior living at SpringRidge .
