As COVID restrictions have been lifted , we can finally savor a little more normalcy in our daily lives . That
STRATON means that the
CWGA is totally open and we can now have “ shotgun ” starts , luncheons , Guest Day and the Stagette ! There is lots of fun activity left to this season and we hope all will get involved .
The Partners Competition on June 17 produced an amazing photo-op for member Betsy Knudsen . She and Brenda Hankins were partners . On Green 9 , Betsy ’ s drive went left toward a tree stump . Sure enough , the ball landed on top of the stump ! No one in the group knew what the rule would be in that instance . The instructions for the competition said that in order to take relief there had to be a mark for ground under repair . Betsy didn ’ t want to take a penalty , so she hit the ball from the stump with an iron ! Way to go Betsy !
The competition was fierce at our July 1 scramble with seven teams tying for third place ! Here are the results :
