arthritics’ led me to this helpful advice: ‘Use
ergonomic kitchen tools’, whereas I had
been expecting an encouraging ‘Have a
glass of red wine three times a day’ or ‘Treat
yourself to fillet steak or lobster’.
They tell me that before you can have the
life-changing hip replacement you’ve first
got to go through physiotherapy to
strengthen the legs and back. Well, pardon
my impatience, but given that these body
parts haven’t let me down for well over 60
years, how about we cut to the chase and
get that hip out right now?

Note to PH – while you’re up, may I have
another glass of red wine please?
