busiest street surgeries I have ever held in Alresford - gives way to the new political season. It was lovely to be joined for the August surgery by PCSO ‘Stevo’ Hull and I want to place on record my thanks to him for being everything a beat bobby should be. Not many police officers can also pull out of the hat these days (Steve is a magician in his spare time) and he will be sorely missed in the area. My next Alresford surgery will take place in November; details www.stevebrine.com/alresford. There is also a huge amount of information about my work, locally and in Westminster, via www.stevebrine.com. I will be working with HCC and the secondary schools across my constituency, including in Alresford, to support them wherever possible and make sure we are not caught by surprise when this year’s Reception Year children (which includes one of my own) reach ‘big school’ in due course. If you would like to get in touch on any issue or need my help, please don't hesitate to contact me via [email protected]. There is a Consultation on the proposed policy changes arising from the Inspector’s 195-page report on the Mineral and Waste Plan which starts in October. I would encourage all interested residents to write in with their comments to this document which is the development plan for waste management of domestic and commercial waste and is very important for residents. As soon as it is available, I will place the link on my website; it isn’t easy reading, but when we know more of the process, I will be organising a working meeting for all residents, so that you feel confident to respond if you wish. Autumn is the tradional time for the big planning applications to arrive on our doorstep, and this year is no exception. Clean Power has made an application for a plant at Micheldever Station as we expected; I have been working with residents and local Councillors to make sure 17
