The programme for June 29th will offer lighter items, suitable for a summer’s evening, with new pop and folk song arrangements, as well as a couple of old favourites. There will also be a performance of “Zadok Rules – Hallelujah”, a new work by Alexander L’Estrange commissioned for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, celebrating 60 years to the month since the Coronation. Having sung the piece at the World Premiere, in Arundel Cathedral on June 6th, the choir will enjoy performing it for their ‘home audience’. With a setting of the mnemonic for the succession of monarchs from William the Conqueror to our Queen, there are very well-known tunes and harmonies dotted about in this fun piece, and Britannia will Rule. Tickets on sale at Six West newsagent from May 27th. Price £10, includes a free interval drink. 21
