St. Mary’s Singers
In 1987 the Singing Group was formed at St.
Mary’s Church but in 2004 it was decided to
rename the group St. Mary’s Singers.
We are not a regular church choir practising and
singing week by week. We are simply a small group of singers who come
together mainly to contribute to the Carol Service and occasionally
for other special occasions.
The group has consisted of men and women, although unfortunately
the men have always been in the minority.
We are a mixed age and ability group. Some can’t read music, some
don’t live in Old Alresford and many don’t attend St. Mary’s Church.
Most people have many other interests in life, so we have just 5
practices in preparation. The common factor is that we all ENJOY
SINGING.
If you like singing Christmas Carols, how about joining the St. Mary’s
Singers in preparation for the Carol Service in St. Mary’s Church on
Sunday 23rd December at 5.00pm?
Just 3 practices remaining from 5.00-6.00pm in the church at
Old Alresford on Sundays: December 2, 9 & 16.
As we only have 5 practices, singers must be able to commit
themselves to at least 3 of the practices, including the final one on
16 December.
Please contact Gail Straker for more information or if you would like
or
to join.
All ages welcome; no experience needed; just an enjoyment of singing.
We would really appreciate some more men joining the singers.
