there is wide interest in this and you can see more via www.stevebrine.com/ energyrecoverycentre. Since my last column, I have attended two cracking (and very different) festivals down the road in Alresford. The Watercress Festival was superb and I certainly feel I have done my bit for this delicate crop after tasting almost 40 varieties of homemade Watercress Soup – among other things alongside celebrity cook Sophie Grigson on the day. This event really does go from strength to strength and it was striking for me how many people I chatted to this year who came from far afield to enjoy the town’s big day. The other festival was of course the Alresford Music Festival. Given the downpours we witnessed throughout June it was remarkable how the clouds parted and the sun shone on Arlebury Park. I said I was looking forward to seeing my little girl dance in the sunshine and I got my wish. Many constituents will know I am a keen festival goer but it's usually on a slightly larger scale than this and somewhere in Somerset! But seriously, Alresford is the new Glastonbury for me. Huge festivals have their place but these small, relaxed events are just perfect, especially for those of us with small kids.
