BIGHTON’S BIG
LUNCH
On Sunday 3rd June nearly the whole of
Bighton and Gundleton came together to
celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee,
and what a celebration it was!
Whilst the children ate their party lunch
(funded by Bighton and Gundleton Fete’s
Children’s World) villagers caught up with
neighbours and made new friends while
Soles Butchers cooked up a mouthwatering
hog roast.

him?) marquees. The hall itself had never
looked more festive, decked out with red,
white and blue bunting and balloons
As people started to arrive, bringing a vast
array of salads and desserts, it was noted
that some Bighton and Gundleton residents
Before the Big Lunch commenced John
Sargent asked everyone to charge their
glasses and toast Her Majesty The Queen.
After a rousing God Save The Queen Fred
Appleton and Trinity Defelice-Hubbard
unveiled a fantastic portrait of the Queen
