Extending Our Thanks and Gratitude to Kent Halaby
For more than 13 years , Kent Halaby served St . Ursula Villa , holding several positions during his tenure at the school , including President , Principal , Assistant Principal , and Director of Finance and Facilities . With our school ’ s mission and Ursuline charism at the heart of every decision , Kent proved to be a man of impeccable character — especially during the difficult circumstance brought on by the COVID pandemic . Thanks to Kent ’ s tenacious leadership , the faculty , staff , and students successfully navigated the many changes in routines and policies . His dedication to return to in-person learning never superseded putting the safety and welfare of the Villa community first .
Kent ’ s strengths as President extended well beyond crisis management . Throughout his time at the Villa , he made decisions and implemented planning efforts to improve the operational vitality of the school . In September 2021 , in partnership with the Board of Trustees , Kent initiated a strategic planning process and enlisted The Institute for School and Parish Development to assist in this effort . He continued his leadership role throughout the strategic planning process , offering his expertise and institutional knowledge in the public engagement phase , Planning Area Team meetings , and the Convocation .
Kent ’ s leadership style extended well into the school halls and classrooms , where he valued each faculty and staff member and inspired students to dream more , learn more , and become more . He united the entire Villa community toward a common goal of achieving academic excellence and living a Christ-centered life .
The entire Villa community will miss Kent , but we wish him the very best as he takes on his new role as Pastoral Planning Support Specialist in the Catholic Schools Office of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati .
