However, God gave him the strength to stand
up every single time he humbled himself again.
When he trusted and obeyed God, he became
strong and courageous even in front of the huge
walls of Jericho. Even when other nations were
much stronger, God gave thirty-one kings into
Joshua’s hands. In the end, Joshua successfully
divided the lands to the twelve tribes and
completed his mission. Yes, God clearly works

plan He has for each one of us and obey Him,
remembering that He goes before us in every
step that we take. Be humble, so that the Light
can truly shine through us.

We have to be different from the world to glorify
our Father who is the Light in the darkness.
In order to do that, we have to become salt and
light. “Let your light shine before men, that they
may see your good deeds and praise your Father in
heaven” (Matt 5:16). We have to reflect His glorious light and just like the moon shines brightly by
reflecting the sunlight.
However, we cannot do this by ourselves. We
are weak, imperfect human beings. God created us
in such a way so that His grace can fill our
imperfections because “His power is made perfect
in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9). He does not want us to
be perfect, but instead be humble and weak so
that His all-surpassing power could be manifested
through us. This is shown clearly in Joshua’s life:
After Moses died, Joshua was chosen to become
the next leader of the Israelites, not because he
was perfect, bu
