Experts provide confidential reports and recommendations, and help guide businesses through the process, including applying for grants, ordering labels, placing bins and training staff.

Merrick Inc., a longstanding member of the Vadnais Heights community, is among the nonprofits that has recently taken BizRecycling up on its offer to improve its processes when it comes to waste.

In the local sustainability world, they are well known and respected for their impressive plastic film / bag recycling program which makes good use of difficult to recycle materials. Recently, with the help of BizRecycling, Merrick received a $ 27,000 grant to purchase a bubble wrap baler.
Bubble wrap is one of the most common forms of plastic that businesses seek to dispose of. However, the bubbles in it make it impossible to recycle alongside regular plastic wrap. With this new baler, recycling this material is possible!
Since the project’ s start, Merrick’ s bubble wrap recycling services have been used extensively by local businesses, taking thousands of pounds of plastic out of the landfill.
