FACTS & FIGURES
NOW > PRESS > PLAY
Verita is delighted to be the first international school in the
world using Now Press Play technology. Founded in 2012,
now>press>play is an award-winning immersive audio
resource that connects learners to their current unit
through emotion, imagination and movement. In a
now>press>play Experience, every child is given a pair of
brightly coloured wireless headphones to get them ready
for their exhilarating journey. Learners are immersed in
sound, become the main character in a story, meet new
people, discover incredible places and solve problems on
an engaging educational adventure they’ll never
forget. After a successful collaboration between the IPC and
now>press>play, they have mapped this fantastic learning
tool to The International Early Years Curriculum to inspire
children’s learning.
CONNECTING WITH OUR COMMUNITY
Field trips, service-learning, guests and extra-curricular activities
Supporting students with an understanding of
community belongs in every classroom. By bringing
the community into the school and placing students
in the community as part of their studies, we are able
to connect student learning to the world outside. By
providing students with learning opportunities
within the classroom as well as in the community,
our understanding of community becomes a part of
student learning across the curriculum. At Verita, we
do this by hosting guest speakers, organizing fairs,
and actively engaging students through field trips.
These learning experiences help to prepare students
for taking a step into the real world. The community
outside of school has so much to offer. Students
benefit from the expertise, talent, and resources of
community-based service organizations, agencies,
business, industry, citizen groups, entrepreneurs,
families, and our workshop providers. Field trips,
mentoring, service learning, workshops, and
volunteering are all examples of activities that
incorporate our community.

Working with our community provides classroom
teachers with activities and resources to support
students as they investigate our world through
awareness, preparation, and exploration. It also
provides guidance for teachers on how to build and
sustain partnerships within the community.
