NEWS VERITASCHOOL . RO LATEST NEWS NEW PRIMARY PLAYGROUND FACILITY We are proud to announce an additional new playground facility. We have succeeded in renting a large plot of land with a surface of 1,440 sqm located exactly behind Verita School. In February we started to clear the land and to fence the area and by March levelling the ground. Our hopes are that by the end of April when the weather is better to install a fully equipped playground and other exciting outdoor activities for our students. ______________________________________________ NEW BUILDING AND PLAYGROUND FOR SECONDARY We are excited to announce that our secondary building will be ready by the end of March. The major construction works have been completed and we are currently finishing the final internal refurbishment and painting. The new secondary building will add 4 new spacious classrooms including a lunch room and recreational area for secondary students. In addition to the newly acquired Primary playgound, we have additionally succeded in renting a playground of 1,000 sqm area exclusively tailored for our Secondary students and conveniently adjacent to the new Secondary building. In March we will be fencing and leveling the playground allowing our secondary students access to extra outside recreational areas. _______________________________________________ OUR NEW SECONDARY LIBRARY The library should be one of the most exciting places in the school: the hub of learning, reading, research, discussion and collaboration. We have created such a space in our new, cosy library for our secondary students. In order to create a library that would meet the needs of our secondary students who will be entering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, we enlisted the help of library consultant, Cristina Cuzuc, to implement services, resources and facilities for our secondary library. We ordered hundreds of books that meet the need for IB guidelines for both fiction and non-fiction. Beginning last year, the secondary library started to build up its IB collection together with the demand of students’ needs. Jointly with the IB coordinator and teachers, we endeavour to fill in the information needs for students in various IB subjects, and for those students completing their iGCSE. 6 | VERITA INSIGHTS OUR NEW SCIENCE STEM LAB STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Verita School has recently invested in a state of the art Stemline Science Lab from the UK. The STEM science lab combines fully serviced fitted benching required for science, smart contemporary semi-mobile workstations for IT, design and academic study, with the heavy-duty build quality essential for Technology and Engineering.The Stemline multi-use learning space combines a laboratory, design studio, a maths classroom with a clean, contemporary technology and engineering workshop.
