Kink Weekend OKC
Oklahoma City, OK July 18-20
When you see photos of this event, you see one thing
visible in every single picture: people having fun, usually
sharing a smile with the camera or enjoying an event so much
you can almost hear the laughing.
This event raises money for area HIV/AIDS charities
and features silent auctions, pool parties, the Mr Heartland
Leather Contest, educational workshops and live
entertainment - an old school carnival with sword swallowers,
flesh hook suspensions, other feats of pain - dangling weights
from scrotum, mouse traps on the feet, broken glass walkers
and more.
The coordinators have somehow packed a lot of punch
in just one weekend.
The Oklahoma City Boys of Leather started this event
in 2011 looking for a way to raise funds while engaging the
entire community. Over the past three years, they have raised
$10,000 for various charities like the local food pantry, Sisters
of the Heartland and Expressions Community Center.
