Nursing major Megan Dutcher received the Library Research Award at the annual Paul D . Lack Scholar ’ s Showcase this Spring .
In February , the Stevenson University Marching Band was one of five collegiate programs selected to be the featured showcase music ensemble at the 2022 College Band Directors National Association ’ s Eastern Division Conference at the Peabody Institute . Stevenson Director of Music Mark Lortz presented a video presentation of the Marching Band ’ s performances and then answered questions about the program . This is the first time this prestigious national organization has recognized a Stevenson music ensemble .
Congratulations to our Psychology graduates who will be pursuing master ’ s degrees this fall : Haley Eppler has been accepted to the Master ’ s in Criminal and Legal Psychology at Marymount University ; Olivia Gooch has been accepted to the Master ’ s in School Psychology at Millersville University ; and Hannah Grimes will be attending the graduate program in Art Therapy at Notre Dame of Maryland University .
The SU Mock Trial Team won first place at the Johns Hopkins 2022 Blue Jay Invitational on January 23 and also received the Johns Hopkins Blue Jay Invitational Spirit

Award for embodying the values of civility , justice , and fair play . Additional congratulations to students Alexa Thomas , who won Outstanding Witness ; Eric Williams , who won Outstanding Witness on Prosecution and Defense ; Apreah Smith , who won Outstanding Attorney ; and Anne Clevenger , who won Outstanding Attorney . Clevenger , a senior Legal Studies major / English minor , was ranked in the Top 50 individual competitors nationwide by the American Mock Trial Association .
Congratulations to our 2022 Dell Scholarship for Character and Excellence recipients , juniors Johana Arjona and Sarah Padilla . The scholarships were presented at the annual Dell Lecture on March 23 by Samuel Dell III , Stevenson Trustee and sponsor of the Geraldine and Sam Dell Endowed Scholarships .
Chemistry senior Leah Hlubb published the paper , “ Scalable and Safe Transformation of 3-Hydroxypropionitrile to Its Amidoxime ,” in the American Chemical Society Journal , Organic Process Research and Development , with research colleagues at Aberdeen Proving Grounds .
