Alexander Boulton , Ph . D ., Adjunct Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and retired Professor of History , published a new book , Democracy and Empire : The Athenian Invasion of Sicily , 415-413 BCE .
The School of Design ’ s Communication Department hosted the Maryland Communication Association ’ s Annual meeting virtually on April 23 . Professor Heather Harris , Ph . D ., delivered the keynote address on the conference theme , “ Diversity in Communication : Communication and Social Justice .”
Marketing Lecturer and School of Business and Leadership Internship Coordinator Jeannine Morber ’ s Social Media Marketing ( MKT 320 ) course activities were accepted for publication in the Instructor Manual for Social Media Marketing : A Strategic Approach , 3rd Edition .
Leeanne Bell McManus , Ph . D ., Professor of Communication , was awarded the prestigious Ecroyd Teaching Excellence Award at the Eastern Communication Association Annual Conference in Philadelphia . Stephanie Verni , Professor of Communication , also received a Distinguished Teaching Fellows Award .
Meagan Nyland , Senior Lecturer , English , was awarded a competitive scholarship from Global Game Jam to attend the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this year based on her outstanding record of service and commitment to the Global Game Jam event and community .
Film & Moving Image Department Chair and Professor Christopher Llewellyn Reed , M . F . A .— already a member of the Washington , DC Area Film Critics Association ( WAFCA ) and a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic — has been admitted into the Online Film Critics Society ( OFCS ).
Neil Rothman , Ph . D ., Professor and Program Coordinator of Stevenson ’ s Biomedical Engineering program , was honored by the IMAGE Center of Maryland with its VME ( Volunteers for Medical Engineering ) Volunteer of the Year Award on April 29 . Rothman was selected because of his continuous involvement with VME as a Capstone Professor and for his extensive volunteerism . He has championed the initial research and design phase of a handwriting assist project for an individual with multiple sclerosis , initiated a collaboration between VME and Stevenson ’ s Fashion Design program for the creation of adaptive clothing , and evaluates all VME projects for quality and safety .
Andre Williams , formerly the Assistant Director of Student Conduct , has been promoted to Director of Residence Life and Student Conduct .
