Faculty and Staff Achievements
Elena Volkova, Associate Professor of Art and Graphic Design, premiered her documentary Anacostia Portraits at the DC International Film Festival in April.
Lara Biagiotti, Medical Laboratory Science Program Coordinator and Professor, presented alongside colleagues from Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Community College of Baltimore County at the Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference in Atlanta in March.
Susan Scherr, Associate Professor of Nursing, and Anna Kayes, Professor of Management in Business Administration, authored a case study in the book Introduction to Health Care Management.
James Borelli, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering, published the article,“ Asymptomatic Carotid Stenosis is Associated with Mobility Dysfunction: Results from the InChianti Study” in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
Chris Metzger, Professor and Department Chair of the Art and Graphic Design program, and Graphic Design alum, Jalen Thomas’ 12, had an excerpt of their project,“ Chamber of Echoes, Spaces of Hope,” published in the most recent release of the Homie House Press Publication Even the Score, Academia, Volume V.
Mark Lortz, Director of Music and Associate Professor of Music, presented his dissertation research at the prestigious Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago.
Susan Scherr, Associate Professor of Nursing, published her article,“ The Meaningful Engagement Assessment for Residents with Dementia in Assisted Living Settings,” in the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association.
Lori Rubeling, Professor of Art and Graphic Design and Exhibitions Director, received a Creativity Grant from the Maryland State Arts Council( MSAC).
Darlene Brothers-Gray, Adjunct Professor of Forensic Science, published her article,“ Virtual Reality in Higher Education,” in The Journal of Forensic Science Education.
