ADVANCING THE MISSION

2024-2025 EVENTS RECAP

STEVENSON NIGHT AT ORIOLE PARK
On a warm evening in September, Stevenson alumni, parents, and students gathered to cheer on the Baltimore Orioles as they took on the San Francisco Giants. While the O’ s were not victorious, it was a wonderful evening out with our Mustangs!
HOMECOMING 2024
Our annual Homecoming + Family Weekend kicked off on Thursday, October 17 with the Stevenson Golf Open. The celebration continued into the evening as the Center for Student Life and Leadership invited Stevenson alumni back to campus to visit their new space and enjoy the annual bonfire.
Friday featured the Lacrosse Golf Outing, and the festivities continued on Saturday with the induction of our newest Dick Watts Athletics Hall of Fame members. The 2024 inductees included Jessica Gieselman’ 14, Samantha Lewis Perillo’ 14, Marissa Meikeljohn’ 14, Brent Hiken’ 14, Kyle Holechek’ 14, and Justin Anderson’ 12. The 2013 Women’ s Volleyball team was inducted as the team of tradition. The team’ s head coach, David Trumbo, was inducted as a contributor. All of the inductees were honored with an oncampus celebration and ceremony, and were recognized during the football game.
That same day, alumni, families, and students gathered for the Homecoming Tailgate, which featured food trucks, inflatable attractions, and giveaways. Marching Band Alumni participated in a Marching Band Reunion, joining our students as they played selections before and during the game.
PRESIDENT’ S RECEPTION
On Thursday, November 7, President Hirshman hosted the annual President’ s Reception. The event welcomed alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to campus to show appreciation for their support of Stevenson University. Members of the Nick Mueller Society, Great Oaks Society and the 1947 Club joined Dr. Hirshman for cocktails, dinner, and conversation. Attendees enjoyed musical selections performed by Stevenson students.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
In December, the Alumni Association once again hosted Breakfast with Santa. Alumni and their families gathered in Rockland Hall to enjoy breakfast along with crafts, story time, and a visit with Santa. The event was a wonderful start to the holiday season.
BALTIMORE SPEAKERS SERIES
Stevenson University continues to host the Baltimore Speaker Series, bringing seven inspiring leaders to speak at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Former House of Representatives Member Liz Cheney; Supreme Court lawyer Neal Katyal; American historian Annette Gordon-Reed; artificial intelligence pioneer Oren Etzioni; former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Admiral James Stavridis; broadcast journalist Chris Wallace; and composer and producer Andrew Lloyd Webber were all featured in the 2024-2025 season. On February 20, before he was scheduled to speak at the Meyerhoff, Admiral Stavridis visited campus to speak with the Stevenson community. We look forward to another outstanding lineup of speakers next season!
