HOCKEY
The Varsity College Hockey Club got the ball rolling
in 2014, providing an opportunity for students from
all three KZN campuses to become members of the
club. With two men’s and two women’s teams, the
club caters for both social and competitive players.
Both the men’s and women’s 1st teams play in the
competitive KZNHA Outdoor and Indoor Super
Leagues. Our early success is largely due to our
coaches’ dedication and expertise in addition to
the hard work and effort put in by all our players.
The highlight of the year is the annual USSA
Tournament where our men’s team is in the A
section and our women’s team are in the B section.
Quality coaching produces quality players, and in
the last few years Varsity College has had a number
of South African senior national representatives
and no less than 22 provincial representatives.
