Vantage Vu Volume 22 | Seite 10

nature’s beauty from the pool deck. The atmosphere had a sense calm about it, even though there was music playing in the background, all my senses where engaged in the beauty of everything natural that was around us, nothing artificial or manmade contributed to the peace and serenity provide by the trees and wilderness that was surrounding us.

Coming to understand the story behind the limited edition bottle design simply broadens your thinking without trying too much, by simply showing you did and did not know existed, and how big South Africa is. A few things we agreed on with the people I was sharing the table with was that certain elements of the bottle design alone were reason enough to celebrate this bottle, and this brings me back to why I said that Johnnie Walker South Africa was contributing a more inclusive sense of culture.

Incorporating the Blue Diamond of Cullinan, the “Hole-in-the-wall” and the Waterburg Copper Butterfly just to mention a few shows how far and wide we as a country, we as one people can stretch across the land, across the country, it symbolizes how we can become one, discover our happy place, be easily able to protect those who need protection.

One more thing that people may not have seen or realized, but yet again it might just be me and my overthinking mind. In a time when the country is going through a lot of things and still needs to start trying to heal, this day literally brought everyone together as equals, as people who can all celebrate and enjoy life as one, and it was a moment to be cherished because it was day filled with positivity, happiness and celebration.

I can safely say Johnnie Walker South Africa did not just achieve a certain goal of opening our eyes to what goes beyond what we think is certain cultures, but achieved a number of goals in showing us that we are bigger than we imaging, and that we can coexist happily and equally!
