ENTERTAINMENT, MUSIC AND MEDIA INDUSTRY UNITES TO MOBILISE STOP THE VIOLENCE CAMPAIGN

The entertainment, music and media industry is a catalyst for change and making a positive difference to Africa. Over two days this week, the industry united to create the STOP THE VIOLENCE campaign to inspire and encourage immediate and continued action in South Africa to address the xenophobic attacks and pandemic levels of gender based femicide and violence against children.

The reported statistics of gender-based femicide violence against women and children in South Africa are alarming and have reached unacceptable levels of 5 times the global average. The country has seen numerous marches across cities demanding a stop to the violence with actionable results for protection and safety.

The STOP THE VIOLENCE campaign aims to support in educating and driving powerful conversation and encouraging the voice of change in homes, communities and society.
