Emerson celebrates 150 years of its Crosby line of PRVs
Flowserve acquires NexGen Cryo ’ s LNG pumping technology
Emerson has marked the 150th anniversary of its Crosby line of pressure relief valves ( PRVs ). Crosby technologies are engineered to meet current regulatory standards , offering improved performance , reliability and safety . The Crosby product range includes :
• J-Series : for air , gas , steam , vapor , liquid and two-phase media applications
• OMNI-TRIM : for overpressure protection and thermal relief in various industries
• H-Series : for power industry steam safety applications
Emerson continues to innovate , developing technologies like the Crosby Balanced Diaphragm , which eliminates bellows in PRVs , reducing maintenance costs and improving safety . The company has also introduced the Bellows Leak Detection solution , providing instant notification of ruptures to enable prompt maintenance and reduce fugitive emissions . These advancements aim to enhance productivity , safety and environmental protection in critical service applications .
Flowserve Corporation has acquired intellectual property and in-process research and development ( R & D ) for cryogenic liquefied natural gas ( LNG ) submerged pump technology from NexGen Cryogenic Solutions Inc . The acquisition includes NexGen Cryo ’ s pump and cold energy recovery turbine ( CERT ) technology for liquefaction , shipping and regasification markets . This acquisition expands Flowserve ’ s LNG product portfolio , complementing its existing pumps , valves and
mechanical seal offerings . Scott Rowe , Flowserve ’ s president and chief executive officer ( CEO ), stated that the technology acquisition will strengthen the company ’ s decarbonisation offerings across the LNG value chain . Dennis Chalmers , president and CEO of NexGen Cryo , expressed excitement about the potential for this next-generation technology to provide LNG customers improved efficiency , increased reliability and reduced operating expenditures .
RAYS delivers pneumatic plug valves to CNOOC
RAYS has supplied CNOOC with customised high-performance
pneumatic plug valves for the Daishan Petrochemical Distillate Oil Phase V Project tank area renovation . The valves feature a pressure-balanced inverted cone design for efficient shut-off and simple 90-degree operation . A grease injection mechanism applies a dense oil film across the sealing surface ,
ensuring bidirectional sealing and minimising friction . This design adheres to the ISO 15848-1 Class B low leakage standard for enhanced safety and environmental protection . The plug surface undergoes nitriding and nickel-phosphorus alloy plating , significantly enhancing hardness and wear resistance in high-pressure ,
high-frequency environments . The valve stem , made from 17-4PH martensitic precipitation-hardened stainless steel , is robust and suitable for high-load conditions . Its blowout-proof design and triple-seal structure further enhance the valve ’ s durability and sealing performance .
