IMI shortlisted for innovation award by EIC
IMI has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Innovation category for the World Energy Supply Chain Awards 2024 by the Energy Industries Council ( EIC ). The recognition stems from IMI ’ s Growth Hub initiative , an innovative approach aimed at enhancing customer alignment across the company ’ s operations .
The EIC ’ s annual awards celebrate achievements of energy companies and their supply chains , with regional ceremonies held in major cities like London , Kuala Lumpur , Dubai , Houston and Rio de Janeiro . IMI ’ s innovative strategies caught the judging panel ’ s attention after being featured in the EIC ’ s Survive & Thrive report .
AUMA expands retrofit services for actuators
Actuator company AUMA has enhanced its service offerings under the motto “ Fit for the digital future ”. The AUMA Retrofit Service aims to help plant designers and operators upgrade existing plants with modern valve actuation technology .
AUMA states that changing requirements and increased digitalisation mean many plant operators need smart electric actuators with high connectivity for efficient valve automation .
The service includes advice on upgrading or replacing existing actuators and automating manually operated valves . AUMA offers project management from analysis and selection of suitable
actuators to installation and commissioning . AUMA reports its service teams have completed retrofit projects in various plants , including power generation , water treatment and tank farms .
OPW acquires SPS Cryogenics & Special Gas Systems
OPW has completed the acquisition of SPS Cryogenics and its affiliated business , Special Gas
Systems ( SGS ), headquartered in Heerhugowaard , the Netherlands . The companies ,
developers of pipeline systems and ancillary equipment for cryogenic applications , will join OPW ’ s Clean Energy Solutions business . Kevin Long , OPW ’ s president , states the acquisition aligns with their focus on handling , transferring and storing cryogenic liquids , making SPS- SGS an attractive addition to their product brands . SPS Cryogenics specialises in vacuum-insulated pipeline systems , while SGS develops gas panels and systems , integrating
seamlessly with OPW ’ s lineup , including their recent Demaco acquisition . Founded over 25 years ago , SPS Cryogenics has developed complete vacuuminsulated pipeline systems with components like superinsulated tees , elbows , phase separators , sub coolers , valves and flexible hoses , establishing them as a solutions provider for handling various industrial gases like LNG , CO2 , liquid argon , nitrogen and oxygen .
