INNOVATIONS & SOLUTIONS

Lumo releases new 4 ’’ smart valves
Lumo , a precision irrigation company , has introduced new 4 ” smart valves . These valves are designed for 5-20 acre blocks and include features such as built-in flow meters , wireless connectivity and solar power .
The company states that over 60 vineyards in Napa , Sonoma and the Central Coast are using Lumo systems . The valves aim to provide remote control of irrigation , block-level visibility of applied water volumes and realtime alerts .
Lumo says the new valves offer similar features to their 2 ” counterparts , including ease of installation and use . The company suggests the valves may be more affordable than traditional systems relying on hardwired solenoids and multiple third-party tools .
Gilmore launches PR2 20k check valve
Gilmore , a control devices company , has introduced the PR2 Check Valve with a maximum allowable working pressure of 20k and temperature range from 0 ° F to 250 ° F . The valve is designed to withstand high and low pressures while preventing backflow . Engineering enhancements include an improved antirotation pin design replacing weldment for serviceability ,
Elgiloy ® spring for reliability , Stellite ® poppet and Inconel seal ring forming a metal-tometal seal , and a compact envelope design for installation in limited spaces .
Aalberts IPS launches new control valve
Aalberts Integrated Piping Systems ( IPS ) has introduced the Apollo v-port series control valve . The new valve is designed for use in various industries including agriculture , power generation , renewable energy , chemical processing , oil and gas , food and beverage , biotechnology , pharmaceuticals and municipal water treatment . The valve features a 3-piece construction with enclosed fasteners , standard and full port options , and stainless steel trim and hardware . It also includes a pressure-balanced solid ball , compression-controlled spiral wound gaskets and an antiblowout one-piece bottom entry stem . Aalberts IPS states the valve aims to provide precise flow control and improved system performance .
Celeros Flow Technology introduces steam conditioning valve
Celeros Flow Technology has launched the DSCV-SA ( Direct Steam Conditioning Valve – Steam Atomization ) under its
Copes-Vulcan brand . The valve is designed for superheated steam control in power generation , refineries , paper mills and waste-to-energy plants . The DSCV-SA uses high-pressure balance , aiming to reduce wear and maintenance compared to low-pressure balanced valves . It features steam atomisation technology , which pre-heats cooling water to accelerate evaporation and desuperheating . Celeros states the valve can operate effectively at varying steam velocities , potentially offering improved temperature control and reduced thermal shock in steam systems .
Lorenz offers sealed gravity diverter valves
Lorenz has introduced sealed gravity diverter valves available in sizes from 4 ” to 30 ”, with custom configurations also possible . The valves come in aluminium , carbon steel and stainless steel alloys , featuring square or round inlets as standard . The valves include a compression shaft seal and urethane blade seal . A removable door design allows access for cleaning and maintenance . Lorenz states that its design engineers can work with customers to develop custom solutions for specific system requirements . www . valve-world . net Valve World October 2024
