attempts without the system’ s control had failed. Hydrogen can damage ILI magnets and is more compressible than natural gas or nitrogen, making PIG speed and tool velocity difficult to control. During an earlier attempt, an uncontrolled speed excursion destroyed the multi-million-dollar ILI tool and resulted in the complete loss of inspection data.

INEOS opens EU’ s first full-scale CO2 storage site in Denmark
OIL, GAS, HYDROGEN, DISTRICT ENERGY & VARIOUS APPLICATIONS
The Greensand CO2 storage project has entered commercial operation in Denmark, with INEOS describing it as the first full-scale CO2 storage site in the European Union. The project permanently stores CO2 in the Nini West reservoir, a depleted oil field around 250 km offshore in the Danish North Sea and approximately 1,800 m beneath the seabed. The project forms part of a full carbon capture and storage( CCS) value chain covering CO2 capture, transport, and permanent offshore storage.
INEOS will source CO2 primarily from Danish biomethane plants while capture projects across industry continue to develop and scale. Once captured, the CO2 is liquefied and delivered by truck to a dedicated CO2 terminal at Port Esbjerg, which provides temporary storage. It is then shipped offshore aboard Carbon Destroyer 1, described by INEOS as the EU’ s first purpose-built, dedicated CO2 carrier vessel, before injection into the Nini West reservoir. www. valve-world. net www. boehmer. de
